Today I was informed that our documentary “Hani: Through my eyes” has received the award for the best short-documentary at the United Nations Association Film Festival at Stanford, Palo Alto.
We started to film Hani and his family from Homs in Syria, in early 2014 and kept on documenting their journey from the refugee camps in Lebanon to their new home in Canada.
The fantastic director and producer Zahra Mackaoui has had a good portion of stamina as she battled all the problems and challenges that naturally occur during such a project. She is definitely full of talent and a true worker when it comes to documentary productions.
